Teen charged with aggravated sodomy, sexual battery
A teenager has been arrested on a felony count of aggravated sodomy and a misdemeanor count of sexual battery.
According to the arrest warrants:
17-year-old Chandler Brent Jacobs of Silver Creek forcibly committed sex acts with the victim, causing a minor injury.
The incident occurred between July 30 and September 3 at a location on High Point Court in Silver Creek.
Man charged with aggravated assault following disturbance at a convenience store
A LaFayette man was booked into the Floyd County Jail Wednesday on charges of aggravated assault, disorderly conduct, and reckless driving.
According to jail records:
46-year-old Jason D. Alexander picked up a log and charged the victim at the Circle K on Shorter Avenue in Rome.
He also acted in a tumultuous and violent manner toward everyone in the store before driving away recklessly.
Man facing financial transaction card fraud charge
A 40-year-old Rome man has been arrested on a felony warrant charging him with financial transaction card fraud.
According to the warrant:
Anthony Rashun McCowan used someone else’s card to purchase $63.86 in merchandise at Rome Liquor Store on East Second Avenue on August 19.
He then went to Dollar General in Central Plaza where he used the card to purchase $103 in merchandise.
McCowan is also charged with giving a false name to law enforcement.
Search warrant leads to drug arrest
A 49-year-old Rome man was reportedly found with 3 grams of cocaine during the execution of a search warrant at his home on Heard Street on Tuesday.
According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:
Demarcus Cantrell Vaughn also had packaging materials and a digital scale.
He is charged with possession of cocaine, and possession with the intent to distribute.
