Man charged with criminal attempt to commit aggravated child molestation
A Rome man is facing charges involving inappropriate online communications with someone he believed to be a child under the age of 16.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
34-year-old Ronald TJ Adams Jr. sent lewd pictures of himself and asked for nude pictures in return.
He then asked the person to meet up for sex acts and was arrested when he showed up to meet that “child.”
Adams is charged with criminal attempt to commit aggravated child molestation, obscene internet contact with a child, sexual exploitation of children, furnishing obscene materials to a minor, using a computer to entice a child, and a probation violation.
Woman charged with child cruelty
A Rome woman is accused of punching a child in the face at her Smith Road home back on January 16.
According to the arrest warrants and Floyd County Jail records:
The victim sustained a mark under his eye from being hit.
A second child witnessed the incident.
28-year-old Tessa Cheyanne Hughes is charged with 1st and 3rd-degree cruelty to children and battery.
Woman accused of stealing vehicle
An Ellijay woman was arrested Wednesday at the Floyd-Chattooga County line on a felony count of theft by taking a motor vehicle.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
27-year-old Lori Elizabeth Dowda took the victim’s vehicle without permission.
She is also accused of driving with a suspended driver’s license.
Woman facing forgery charge
An East Rome woman has been arrested on a felony warrant charging her with 3rd-degree forgery.
According to the warrant:
35-year-old Autum Lyann Sanders made out a check for more than $2,800 using someone else’s name.
She then tried to cash the check at a local bank.
The incident dates back to March of last year.
