A man was arrested in New Rome for stealing a handgun.
According to Floyd County Jail Records:
25 year old Dale Jackson Early Jr was arrested on the 2nd for entering someone’s vehicle without permission and taking a handgun from the vehicle. He then drove the victim off of their property. Dale was already a convicted felon, and was arrested on the scene.
Dale Jackson Early Jr has been charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, entering a motor vehicle with the intent to commit theft, and theft by taking.
A man was arrested just outside of Downtown Rome for threatening a store clerk and brandishing a knife.
According to Floyd County Jail Records:
49 year old Christopher M Carson was arrested on the 2nd after causing a scene at a store when he started yelling and hitting the counter in the store. After refusing to leave, Carson began to yell at the clerk “come on, come on!” Hoping to initiate a fight. Carson then took out a knife, holding it towards the clerk. After refusing lawful orders by police, Carson was placed into an arm lock and arrested.
Christopher M Carson has been charged with Aggravated Assault and Terroristic Threats and Acts.
A man was arrested in Rome for unlawfully taking someone’s firearms.
According to Floyd County Jail Records:
52 year old Sean Daniel Maxwell was arrested on the 2nd for taking three firearms from the victim with the intention to deprive them of their property. Maxwell admitted to being in possession of the firearms despite being a repeatedly convicted felon.
Sean Daniel Maxwell has been charged with three counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and three counts of theft by taking.
A man was arrested for burglary on the 2nd after breaking into a residence in Northeast Rome.
According to Floyd County Jail Records:
42 year old Mark Thomas Scoffield was arrested after breaking into a residence in Northeast Rome and proceeded to commit Aggravated Stalking.
Scoffield has been charged with Burglary and Aggravated Stalking.
