Louisiana man accused of ripping off Rome resident
A man from West Monroe, Louisiana, was booked into the Floyd County Jail on Tuesday on a felony warrant charging him with theft by deception.
According to the warrant:
44-year-old Wayne Anthony Mones II received $2,500 from a Rome woman as a deposit for a concrete patio.
He never attempted to complete any of the work and ceased all communication with the victim, failing to return the money.
Man charged with meth possession
An East Rome man was jailed on Tuesday and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug-related objects.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
37-year-old Stevelle Lavelle Henderson was found with meth, a glass pipe containing meth residue and a digital scale at a motel room on Martha Berry Highway.
Woman charged with possession of fentanyl
A traffic stop on Maple Avenue ended with the arrest of a Sherwood Forest woman.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
A vehicle driven by 62-year-old Regina Lynn Clementi was stopped for a brake light violation.
Following a K9 indication, a search of the vehicle was conducted.
Fentanyl along with several pieces of aluminum foil and straws with residue were located.
Clememti is charged with possession of fentanyl and possession of drug-related objects.
Man reportedly identified himself as someone else to authorities
A Lindale man has been charged with identity theft.
According to the arrest warrant:
35-year-old Lucas Lee Miller fraudulently used the identification of a Rome man by presenting himself as the victim during his arrest in Elmore County, Alabama.
The incident occurred in November of last year.
Miller is additionally charged with a probation violation.
