The Atrium Health Floyd-Polk Foundation board voted Thursday to provide financial support to seven food agencies throughout its service area.
The initial total gift is for $30,000, divided among the agencies.
The board is going to evaluate this issue on a weekly basis and will do more if the SNAP funding isn’t restored.
The agencies receiving the initial funding are:
NWGA Hunger Ministries (Floyd County)
Community Kitchen (Floyd County)
One Door Polk (Polk County)
Community Share Ministries (Polk County)
Community Resource Center (Chattooga County)
Helping Hands Ending Hunger (Chattooga County)
Family Care Center (Cherokee County, AL)
