-Rome Police report-
Rome Police are investigating a reported attempted armed robbery in West Rome early Sunday.
According to the police report:
The clerk at City Center Food Mart on Shorter Avenue said that a man walked up to the store and brandished a firearm.
However, the man never made it inside because all the doors were locked.
When the responding officer arrived at the scene and got out of his patrol vehicle, the man, who had gone around to the rear of the store, took off running.
The officer gave chase but lost sight of the man who was last seen running north on Dougherty Street toward Decatur Street.
