The Floyd County Democratic Party hosted the annual Georgia Giants Dinner on Friday night featuring speeches from Georgia’s 14 Congressional District candidate Shawn Harris, Lieutenant Governor candidate Josh Mclaurin, Labor Commissioner candidate Nikki Porcher, and a keynote speech from Georgia Governor candidate Keisha Lance Bottoms.
All of the speeches made mention of the upcoming November election. Shawn Harris spoke in approval of Keisha Lance Bottom’s campaign. Labor Commissioner candidate Nikki Porcher spoke, emphasizing her want to end overworking in the state. Lieutenant Governor candidate Josh Mclaurin spoke at the event, telling the story of the Three Governors Controversy and how it emphasizes the need for the position of Lieutenant Governor. The final speech of the night was made by Georgia Governor candidate Keisha Lance Bottoms, who spoke about her experience in both public service and law.
The Giants Dinner was hosted by the Floyd County Democratic Party, and all proceeds are going to efforts related to voter outreach, voter registration, and and community engagement.
