Man charged with aggravated assault and battery
An Armuchee man has been arrested in the reported assault of a Gordon County woman that occurred on Shorter Avenue early Wednesday morning.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
20-year-old Evan Jacob Stratton threatened to shoot the Sugar Valley woman while holding a gun to her head.
The threat was heard on an audio recording.
Stratton also punched the victim.
He is charged with aggravated assault, battery, and terroristic threats and acts.
Man charged with fentanyl, meth possession
A Coosa man is facing possession of methamphetamine and fentanyl charges following his arrest on Wednesday.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
A vehicle driven by 50-year-old Jonathan Richard Duke was stopped on Calhoun Road at Burton Road for failing to maintain a lane and a cracked windshield.
He was searched following a K9 indication.
Meth and fentanyl were located in his pocket.
Duke is additionally charged with possession of meth, failure to maintain a lane, and a window tint, windshield or wiper violation.
Elderly man charged with aggravated stalking
An 82-year-old Garden Lakes man was jailed on Wednesday on a felony aggravated stalking charge.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Barry Richard Smith went to a location on Shorter Avenue and made contact with the victim in an aggressive manner, despite being aware of a protective order.
