John Giles, with the Rome City Police Department, was asked by Commissioner Bill Collins to look at the fees, which have only seen a slight bump since 2010.

For vehicles weighing over 10,000 pounds but less than 20,000 pounds, the towing fee is going from $250 for the first hour to $325. The additional per-hour charge will remain at $125.
For large vehicles, over 26,000 pounds, the fee is going from $500 to $585 for the first hour, and the additional per-hour charge will remain at $250.
