Man charged with hijacking a motor vehicle
A man from Durham, North Carolina, was arrested on Highway 140 on Sunday and charged with hijacking a motor vehicle.
According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:
47-year-old Alvin Doi-Chih Hong went to a home on Fernwood in Rome, where he got into the driver’s seat of a Chevy Tahoe with a trailer attached and drove away.
Hong is additionally charged with felony and misdemeanor counts of theft of articles from a vehicle, felony theft by taking a motor vehicle, and misdemeanor theft by taking.
Man accused of kissing disabled woman without consent
A 70-year-old man was arrested at Chulio Hills Health and Rehab on Friday and charged with simple battery and exploitation or intimidation of the elderly or disabled.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
George Hubert Robbins walked into another patient’s room and kissed her to “make her feel good.”
The victim is disabled, and similar incidents have been occurring over several months.
Man accused of making false statements against a juvenile
A Coosa man has been arrested on a felony warrant charging him with false statements and writings.
According to the warrant and other Floyd County Jail records:
44-year-old James Walter Baker made false statements to a Juvenile Court Probation officer and filed a complaint form against a juvenile, which led to a court order.
Baker also told the probation officer that he was going to kidnap someone, leading to an additional charge of terroristic threats and acts.
Man charged with possession of crack cocaine
A Dodd Boulevard man was arrested over the weekend on charges of possession of cocaine and misdemeanor obstruction.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
49-year-old Antoine Henry Flood was in possession of crack cocaine and fought with officers during his arrest on Turner McCall Boulevard at East Seventh Street.
Report: Man arrested for possessing THC, marijuana
A Lindale man was arrested on Garden Avenue on Sunday on drug charges.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
49-year-old Buster Bill Kitchens was in possession of a THC vape and a small amount of marijuana.
Kitchens is charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled substance and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
Report: Underage person found with alcohol, THC
A Rome man was arrested on Shorter Avenue at Sycamore Street on Saturday and charged with underage possession of alcohol and possession of a Schedule I controlled substance.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
19-year-old Marcus Trey Kelley was in possession of two THC vapes and a partially consumed bottle of Hennessy cognac.
