The Rome-Floyd County Fire Department responded to a fire near the City of Rome Public Works facility off of Vaughn Road on Sunday afternoon.
According to Division Chief Jamie Stone, the fire involved a pile of construction debris, and it has been extinguished.
Smoke from the fire was seen from Riverside Parkway and other nearby locations.
