The Development Authority of Floyd County will hold a called meeting on Friday afternoon to discuss the sale of 37 acres in the North Floyd Industrial Park at Highways 53 and 140 to Adairsville-based Elevated Steel.
Earlier this week, the Rome-Floyd County Development Authority agreed to the sale for $1,307,500.
According to Rome-Floyd County Development Authority President and CEO Spencer Hogg, there was already an agreement with Elevated Steel for 24 acres. However, following some engineering studies, the company realized it needed a larger tract. So that agreement was terminated, and the new one for 37 acres was approved on Tuesday.
Hogg said the new layout will give Elevated Steel the space they need with room to grow.
The investment in new equipment represents about $13 million, and around 100 new jobs will be created.
Friday’s Development Authority of Floyd County meeting will be held at 1:30 p.m.at Rome Floyd County Development Authority office, located at 800 Broad Street, Suite 102.
