Report: Man found with THC vapes, gummies during traffic stop
A traffic stop for speeding on Highway 411 at Biddy Cutoff Road ended with the arrest of an Alpharetta man on charges of possession of a Schedule I controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Police stopped a vehicle driven by 21-year-old Dulani Khalfani Ward after he was clocked going 81 in a 65 mile-per-hour-zone.
He was then found with 50 oil vapes in the original packaging and labeled 84 percent THC.
He also had four packages of gummies labeled 50 percent THC.
Ward also admitted that he did not have insurance and had purchased the vehicle on July 16, 2025, but did not register it.
Traffic stop leads to arrest
A woman pulled over for using her cell phone while driving on Floyd Springs Road at Old Summerville Road was arrested on a felony Count of possession of a Schedule I controlled substance.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
54-year-old Lesa Paulette Debenport of Summerville was found with a THC vape.
She is additionally charged with driving under the influence and distracted driving.
Teen accused of possessing firearms, alcohol, and tobacco
A West Rome teen was arrested on multiple misdemeanor charges after he was reportedly found with two vapes, four open containers of alcohol, cigarillos, and two handguns during a traffic stop.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
17-year-old Kaleb James Alston was driving without his lights on in the area of East Second Street and East Third Avenue in downtown Rome.
He is charged with possession of a pistol or revolver by a person under the age of 21, possession of a tobacco product by a minor, open container, DUI, underage intoxication, driving without a license in his possession, and a headlight violation.
