Parke Wilkinson
Rome High School Principal Parke Wilkinson is retiring.
The Rome City School Board voted on Tuesday to approve Wilkinson’s retirement.
“Mr. Wilkinson, I know I speak on behalf of our school board, we truly appreciate what you do for a living, but more importantly, we appreciate who you are as a person,” said Rome City School Superintendent Eric Holland. “Mr. Wilkinson has served as principal at every level in our district. So, our April 14 board meeting will be in honor of Mr. Wilkinson. We will have Rome High School on the card, and you [Wilkinson] will be the main event, and we will celebrate you at that time.”
Wilkinson joined Rome City Schools as a 5th-grade teacher at East Central Elementary in 2001. Over the years, he has served in several leadership roles, including assistant principal at both East Central Elementary and Rome High School. He has also worked alongside educators and students at Main Elementary, Anna K. Davie Elementary, and Rome Middle School.

Lisa Strack
“I’d like to just take a point of privilege to make the announcement that the school board has approved Lisa Strack to be the new principal at West End Elementary School,” he said.
Strack brings a wealth of experience as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal to the role.
She currently serves as principal at Elm Street Elementary and has a long history of serving students and families across the district.
Strack will be taking over for current principal Dennis Drummond, who will be stepping into his new role of Rome City Schools Assistant Superintendent on June 1.
