Shawn Harris (left) and Clay Fuller (right) will face off in the April 7 runoff election for Congress.
There will be a runoff in the Special Election for the U.S. House of Representatives in District 14.
Democrat Shawn Harris and Republican Clay Fuller were the top vote-getters across the district on Tuesday.
Harris finished first among Floyd County voters with 6,180 votes, which is just under 40 percent, while Fuller got 5,696 votes, or just under 38 percent.

Voter turnout for the election was just under 25 percent in Floyd County, with just over 12 percent casting ballots during early voting.
Harris, a Polk County farmer and retired Brigadier General, and Fuller, District Attorney for the Lookout Judicial Circuit and the candidate endorsed by President Donald Trump, will face off in the runoff on April 7.

Lanny Thomas (left) and Jack Zibluk (right) will face on in a runoff for Georgia State Senate in District 53 on April 7.
Meanwhile, for the Georgia State Senate in District 53, Republican Lanny Thomas and Democrat Jack Zibluk were the top vote-getters, but neither got the 50 percent plus one needed to avoid a runoff.
Thomas, former mayor and city councilman in Trion and a veteran educator, got 11,794 votes or 38.7 percent, while Zibluk, an award-winning educator and journalist, received 8,226 votes, which is 26.99 percent.
Zibluk actually finished first in Floyd County, which is just a small portion of the district.

Thomas and Zibluk will face off in the April 7 runoff to succeed Colton Moore in the State Senate.
