Woman accused of assaulting teen with a knife
A West Rome woman is facing charges of aggravated assault, 1st-degree cruelty to children, and 3rd-degree cruelty to children following her arrest on Tuesday at her Tamassee Lane residence.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
33-year-old Kierra D’Treasure Farmer assaulted a 14-year old by going after him with a knife.
The incident took place in the presence of a 5-year old child.
More charges for robbery suspect
A man arrested back in February in connection with a robbery at the Kangaroo Express Mart on Maple Avenue in Lindale is facing additional charges.
According to Floyd County jail records:
36-year-old Jermiah Jerome Philpot of Forest Park inflicted mental anguish upon the elderly victim when he robbed him, taking a money bag containing $60,000.
According to the initial report, Philpot broke into a vehicle in the parking lot of the store, and when confronted, Philpot snatched the money bag from the victim and drove off.
Philpot is now charged with theft by taking articles from a vehicle and exploitation or intimidation of the elderly.
Man accused of selling a car without authorization
A homeless man is facing charges of 1st-degree forgery, identity fraud, and theft by deception.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
59-year-old Kevin Lee Suttles sold a 1975 Camaro without authorization, while the vehicle was under a court order not to be sold.
He also presented himself as the owner of the vehicle when he sold it for $6,000 and signed the name of a deceased person to the bill of sale.
Canton man accused of cheating an elder out of $9,000
A Canton man was booked into the Floyd County Jail on Tuesday on charges of theft by deception and exploitation of the elderly.
According to the arrest warrants:
35-year-old Quinton Antonio Wood Sr. contacted a Rome man, who is over the age of 65, on January 26, and told him that his bank account had been compromised.
Wood then instructed the victim to withdraw funds for safekeeping, and then showed up at the residence, representing himself in an official capacity, and accepted $9,000 in cash.
The victim was able to identify Wood in a photo lineup.
