The Rome-Floyd County Planning Commission will hear a request for a special use permit for a wedding and special events venue at 114 Flat Rock Road off of Blacks Bluff Road when they meet later this week.
Plans for the project known as “Whistle Woods at Flat Rock Wedding and Events, also include onsite guest cottages.
In his environmental review, Shane Hendrix with the Floyd County Health Department stated that a detailed engineered site plan showing a layout of all the structures, drives, utilities, primary and replacement septic systems, soil data overlay and etc. would be required before his office would approved the project.
Planning staff is also recommending conditions such as events being restricted to private functions, while prohibiting public event concerts, festivals, and any event that would require purchasing a ticket; maintaining of a natural buffer, and that no events be held until all required development and building permits are obtained.
The planning commission meets this Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Rome City Hall.
