A slightly different format for Monday’s Rome City Commission meeting.
The pre-meeting caucus, which starts at 5 p.m., will only be 30 minutes long as the commission will recognize honorees for Black History Month.
The ceremony will start at 5:30 in the commission chambers on the second floor of Rome City Hall.
The commission meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m., and agenda items include a request for a waiver for a business that cannot comply with Rome’s Coin Operated Amusement Machine Ordinance, specifically the minimum distance requirements.
The Stop N Go on Calhoun Avenue is located between a church and a residence, and the ordinance states the distance must be 300 feet from a church and 150 feet from a residence.
The commission’s also expected to vote on a rezoning for a 14-unit townhome development along Waddell, Stonewall, and Nelm Streets.
