Floyd County Commissioners are expected to consider a request from the police department to approve a continuation of the agreement for the RedSpeed traffic enforcement system in the Armuchee Primary School Zone on Highway 27 North when they meet on Tuesday.
The speed detection camera has been in use since October of 2022, and a decrease in wrecks and speeding tickets has been reported in the past four years in the area.
The commission will also consider a request to approve canceling the December 22 commission meeting.
Tuesday’s Floyd County Commission meeting begins at 6 p.m. at the county administration building on East Fourth Avenue.
During the pre-meeting caucus, which begins at 4 p.m., the commission will hear a presentation from the Rome – Floyd Commission on Children and Youth and will go into executive session to discuss litigation, property acquisition, and/or personnel.
