One person was killed and another seriously injured in a wreck on Blacks Bluff Road near the Alabama State Line on Wednesday.
According to the Floyd County Police report:
A 2012 Dodge Ram driven by 74-year-old Bruce Lane Rogers of Rome was traveling east on Blacks Bluff about a quarter of a mile from the state line.
Rogers suffered a suspected serious medical episode, rendering him unconscious.
The truck traveled across the roadway and into the ditch and shoulder of the westbound lane.
The vehicle then traveled 156 feet on the shoulder before going into a ditch and striking a tree.
Rogers was fatally injured.
A passenger in the vehicle, 71-year-old Brenda Rogers, was airlifted to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga for treatment of serious injuries.
