The Rome City Commission is expected to award a bid for the Jackson Hill Trail Connection when it meets on Monday.
Four bids were submitted, with S.H. Creel Contracting meeting the requirements of a
“responsive, responsible” bidder at $974,903.
In other action, the commission will review a funding request for repair of the South Broad Street Bridge.
The city plans to ask the Georgia Department of Transportation for a $1 million grant and another $1 million loan to be used as the primary funding sources.
There will also be public hearings for several items from the Rome-Floyd County Planning Commission, including rezoning requests and a special use permit.
Monday’s city commission meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. at Rome City Hall.
The caucus starts at 5 p.m. in the Sam King Room.
