Man accused of pushing 15-year-old
A 62-year-old Rome man was arrested over the weekend at his Highland Boulevard residence on a felony count of 1st-degree cruelty to children.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Hunter Jerome Moss intentionally pushed the 15-year-old victim.
Moss is additionally charged with simple battery and a probation violation.
Man charged with fleeing or attempting to elude
A Plainville man was arrested on Sunday on charges of fleeing or attempting to elude, aggressive driving, DUI, and underage possession of alcohol.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
18-year-old Ryan Cheyenne Patterson exited a parking lot on North Fifth Avenue, doing a burnout by hitting the accelerator and the brakes at the same time.
He turned onto Third Avenue at approximately 40 miles per hour in a 25-mile-per-hour zone.
He then refused to stop for a police officer and swerved around an officer who was directing traffic, nearly striking him.
Patterson continued to accelerate, running a stop sign at Third Avenue and Second Street.
He is also charged with laying a drag, operating a vehicle without a current license plate, and a stop sign violation.
Man accused of making threats
A homeless man is facing charges of terroristic threats and acts, disorderly conduct, and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana following his arrest over the weekend on Hicks Drive at Turner McCall Boulevard.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
36-year-old Javier Manuel Hernandez ran up on a family of three and accosted them, making vulgar statements and cursing in the presence of a child.
He then threatened to kill the father and stated that he would crack the victim’s head open and turn it inside out.
Hernandez lifted his shirt as he was making the statements, which led the victim to believe that he had a weapon.
Hernandez was also found with a vape pen containing high-concentrate THC.
Report: Man threatened a police officer
A homeless man is facing charges following his arrest over the weekend in the Cave Spring area.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
33-year-old Tyler Mark Huffman was walking in the middle of Highway 100 and started yelling profanities when approached by police.
He threatened to beat up the officer and then kill him.
Huffman is charged with felony and misdemeanor counts of terroristic threats and acts and a single count of disorderly conduct.
Report: Man damaged an Armuchee residence
An Armuchee man was arrested on Friday on charges of 2nd-degree criminal damage to property and criminal trespass.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
26-year-old Clayton William Grant caused approximately $2,400 in damage to the walls of the residence on Walenda Drive and a refrigerator.
Woman charged with criminal damage to property
A West Rome woman was arrested early Monday at her Rooney Road home on charges of 2nd-degree criminal damage to property and simple battery.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
22-year-old Kiersten Angel Ashley slapped a man as he was walking to his bedroom in order to get away from her.
Ashley also damaged a TV and a door frame and put holes in the walls throughout the residence.
She knocked out a second door frame from the wall, and then went outside and damaged the victim’s truck by putting a dent in it.
The total cost of the damage was listed at around $2,000.
