Man charged with exploitation or intimidation of the elderly or disabled
A Rome woman is accused of stealing medication from a disabled 61-year-old man.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
43-year-old Tamara Mechel Glanton took a bottle of a prescription medication, used to treat nerve damage and pain, from the victim’s Tammassee Lane apartment.
She is charged with misdemeanor theft by taking and a felony count of exploitation or intimidation of the elderly or disabled.
Man accused of pulling a gun on another person
A Silver Creek man was arrested on Monday on a felony warrant charging him with aggravated assault.
According to the warrant:
38-year-old Matthew Galen Brown pulled a gun and walked toward another man in an aggressive manner.
The incident occurred on June 5 in the 200 block of Broad Street.
Woman charged with drug possession in North Rome
A Centre, Alabama, woman was arrested at a location on Couper Street at North Avenue on Monday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
41-year-old Shantera Labrea Kirby was in possession of suspected Xanax, which was found in a nicotine pouch.
She also gave law enforcement a false name.
Kirby is charged with possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, possession of drugs not in the original container, DUI, giving a false name or address, and driving with a suspended or revoked license.
Man accused of taking a weed-eater from a vehicle
A 50-year-old Rome man has been arrested on a felony warrant charging him with entering an automobile.
According to the warrant:
Steven Brian Eaves entered a vehicle belonging to a landscaping business on Martha Berry Highway back on May 19.
He then took a Stihl weed eater, valued at $350.
