Seat belt violation turns into drug arrest
A traffic stop on Cave Spring Road at Sanders Drive ended with the arrest of a Cedartown man on drug charges.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
A vehicle driven by 36-year-old Antoine Rashad Williams was stopped for a seatbelt violation.
A search of the vehicle turned up approximately 35 grams of marijuana, two ecstasy pills, digital scales and packaging materials.
Williams is charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, felony possession of marijuana, possession of drug-related objects, and no seatbelt.
Man charged with theft by receiving, fugitive from justice
An Alabama man is accused of bringing a stolen motorcycle into Georgia.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
53-year-old Gregory Wayne Ledbetter of Cedar Bluff was in possession of a 2002 Yamaha V Star that had been reported stolen in Alabama.
The motorcycle is valued at $2,500.
Ledbetter, who is also wanted in an outstanding warrant in Cherokee County, is charged with theft by receiving stolen property, fugitive from justice and a probation violation.
