A man who was reportedly fleeing from police caused a crash that left another motorist with serious injuries.
According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:
33-year-old Kyle Lee James Harris of Rome was driving under the influence when he fled at more than 20 miles an hour over the speed limit on Highway 27 South at Foster Avenue.
He struck another vehicle, resulting in the driver sustaining a collapsed lung and other injuries.
Harris is charged with fleeing or attempting to elude, serious injury by vehicle, DUI, open container, reckless driving, and failure to maintain a lane.
