A Fire early Sunday morning in Lindale has claimed one life and sent another to the hospital.
According to Rome-Floyd County Fire Department Division Chief Jamie Stone:
At 4:38 am, the Rome-Floyd Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 63 Old Lindale Road.
Two engines, one ladder truck, a squad unit, two investigators, and two chief officers responded, with a total of 18 personnel.
The first arriving engine reported that a single-family dwelling was heavily involved in fire.
Fire crews made an offensive interior fire attack and searched for occupants.
There were two occupants in the home at the time.
One occupant was transported to a local hospital for smoke inhalation. and one occupant, unfortunately, succumbed to injuries sustained from the fire.
The cause of the fire has been determined to be accidental/electrical.
