Man charged with sex crimes
An Adairsville man was booked into the Floyd County Jail over the weekend on charges of aggravated sexual battery and aggravated sodomy.
According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:
48-year-old Ning Jiang committed the sexual acts against the victim’s will, causing her physical pain, at his home on Adairsville Road on Sunday.
Teen accused of stealing a Toyota Highlander
A stolen vehicle lands a 17-year-old behind bars.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Isaiah Quenton Dean Ward of Cave Spring took a 2023 Toyota Highlander, valued at $36,000, belonging to a Buchanan man.
Ward was located, hiding inside the stolen vehicle, on city property on Hicks Drive.
He refused law enforcement commands to exit the vehicle, forcing officers to break open the driver’s side window.
Ward, who was also in possession of a firearm, told officers, “I think I stole it,” while referencing the vehicle.
The victim’s belongings were also located inside the Highlander.
Ward is charged with theft by taking a motor vehicle, theft by receiving stolen property, possession of a pistol by a person under the age of 18, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, misdemeanor obstruction of officers, criminal trespass, and driving without a license.
Report: Man kicked officers, made threats
A Rome man is facing a number of charges, including felony obstruction of officers, terroristic threats and acts, battery, and a probation violation following his arrest over the weekend.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
34-year-old Timothy Linell Long kicked two police officers in the face, causing bleeding.
Another officer was kicked in the left elbow as he was placing Long under arrest.
Long also made threats against an officer.
Once at the jail, Long was found with a small amount of marijuana, resulting in additional charges of possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and possession of drugs by an inmate.
Report: Man arrested after being found with stolen firearm
A South Rome man is facing a felony count of theft by receiving stolen property following his arrest on Sunday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
19-year-old Zion Saterrius Davis ran from officers on East 18th Street and was then found in possession of a stolen Glock 22.
Davis is also charged with misdemeanor obstruction of law enforcement and a probation violation.
Man charged with meth possession
A North Rome man was arrested on Friday and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug-related objects.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
58-year-old Walter Lee Jones Jr. was found with suspected meth and a scale at his Church Street residence.
Man accused of failing to register as a sex offender
A homeless man has been arrested on a felony warrant charging him with violating Georgia’s Sex Offender Registry law.
According to the warrant:
50-year-old Jimmy Wade Bowen failed to notify the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office within 72 hours of moving from his residence on Martha Berry Highway.
Bowen is also being held for a probation violation.
Woman accused of making a false report against another person
A 75-year-old Rome woman was jailed over the weekend on a felony aggravated stalking charge.
According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:
Janie Lou Edwards had a friend call 911 in reference to a theft she claims took place.
Edwards violated a temporary protective order by making a false police report against the victim.
Edwards is also charged with a misdemeanor count of unlawful conduct during a 911 call.
Man charged with criminal damage to property
A Shannon man is facing a felony count of 2nd-degree criminal damage to property following a recent incident at his Barron Road home.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
25-year old Ethan Jarred Smith broke seven doors, two windows, and several walls inside the residence.
The damage was estimated at over $2,700.
