Businesses, musicians, artists, authors. Broad Street had it all this weekend as Rome RoFlo Fest turned the streets of Rome into a showcase of local talent.
Over 100 vendors from the Rome-Floyd area filled Broad Street as they set up tents to showcase their work. Some sold candy, some sold clothes, and some sold their own books, but everyone was filling the streets of downtown Rome to bring their work to the community. As local musicians performed on stage, locals were checking in on the booths of local vendors whether they were longstanding pillars of the community or local artists selling pieces of their favorite pastimes.
Local vendors like Discovery Toys and the Harvest Moon Cafe sat alongside local artists and organizations like PFLAG and local author Bryan M. Powell.
The event hosted vendors and activities such as canvases for passersby to paint on. Director of Downtown Development, Suzanne Roberts spoke to the nature of the event,
“We have over 90 arts and crafts vendors and we also have local bands. And we’re out here all day, just a downtown street festival that everyone enjoys.”
