Man charged with burglary
A Shannon man is facing a felony 1st-degree burglary charge following his arrest on Tuesday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
25-year-old Robert Ethan Whorton entered a home on Third Street in Shannon and took a backpack containing several items.
Whorton is also charged with a misdemeanor count of theft by taking.
Two charged with felony marijuana possession
Two Floyd County residents were arrested on drug charges at their Kingston Highway home on Tuesday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
20-year-old Kelis Diane Bowens was found with over two ounces of marijuana, packaging materials, and a digital scale.
She is charged with felony possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute.
25-year-old Austin Wayne Vines was found with over a pound of marijuana, packaging materials, a digital scale, a firearm, and three THC vapes.
He is charged with felony possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of a schedule I controlled substance, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and possession of drug-related objects.
Man accused of shoving an elderly person
An Adairsville woman was booked into the Floyd County Jail on Tuesday on charges of battery and exploitation or intimidation of the elderly.
According to an arrest warrant:
45-year-old Lashonda Shuwnta Reese shoved a 72-year-old woman into a fence at a home on Teat Street in Lindale on April 18.
Woman charged with theft by deception
A 49-year-old Cave Spring woman, already in the Floyd County Jail, has been charged in connection with an alleged crime that occurred in June of last year.
According to jail records:
Johnnie Leann Guerrero attempted to sell a vehicle that she knew had a lien on it for $6,000.
Guerrerro was initially arrested on Monday on a misdemeanor warrant for failure to appear.
She has now been charged with a felony count of theft by deception.
Student arrested at Coosa High
A Garden Lakes teen was arrested on Tuesday following an incident at Coosa High School.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
17-year-old Bryden Lee Ray Victoria made physical contact with another student using his hand.
The incident occurred during lunch at the school.
He is charged with battery and disruption of a public school and has been released on bond.
