Work is expected to start soon on a major road project in the Plainville area.
An “R-Cut,” which stands for reduced conflict U-turns, will be installed at the intersection of Brownlee Mountain Road and Plainville Road at Highway 53.
Basically, what that means is that traffic coming off of these side roads will only be able to turn right onto 53,” said Joe Schulman with the Georgia Department of Transportation. “Just a little bit down, there will be a spot for a U-turn, where you can go back if you need to turn left or to cross over.”
The $4.5 million project should be completed by the spring of next year.
