Man charged with influencing a witness
An inmate at the Floyd County Jail is accused of trying to get the victim of a reported crime to change her story.
According to jail records:
18-year-old Keano Sanjay Nestor used the jail’s phone to contact the victim and tried to convince her to change her statement to the police.
Nestor has been in jail since December 1.
Police said he was maintaining a disorderly house where minors, under the age of 21, were consuming alcohol, using tobacco products, and engaging in fights.
He also allegedly pointed a firearm at an 18-year old female.
He is now charged with influencing a witness.
Man accused of verbally abusing 88-year-old woman
A Rome man was arrested on Thursday at his Maplecrest Lane home on a felony charge of exploitation or intimidation of the elderly.
According to Floyd County Jail records;
The victim, an 88-year-old female, told police that 24-year-old Parker Garrard House gets angry and verbally abusive when he doesn’t get money from her.
The victim also stated that she feels threatened when this happens.
Traffic stop leads to drug arrest
Two men were arrested on drug charges during a traffic stop on Highway 27 South at the Maple Road exit.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
A vehicle driven by 45-year-old David Wayne Maddox of Cedartown failed to come to a complete stop at a red light at Dodd Boulevard and Highway 411.
Over an ounce of marijuana and a THC vape were located following a K9 indication.
Maddox and 29-year-old Dylan James Rackley Pointer of Buchanan are both charged with possession of Schedule I controlled substances.
Two charged with felony marijuana possession
Two Calhoun men were arrested on drug charges at a location on Highway 411 in Rome on Thursday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
A vehicle driven by 31-year-old Deonquavious Deshawn Williams was stopped for an improper turn.
More than an ounce of marijuana was then located in the trunk, along with digital scales, and packaging materials.
Williams and 32-year-old Demerious Montrae Spurgeon are charged with felony possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, and possession of drug-related objects.
Report: Woman stole a floating device from an outbuilding
A Cave Spring woman has been arrested on a felony count of 2nd-degree burglary.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
47-year-old Tabitha Ann Garner entered an outbuilding on Blacks Bluff Road on April 1 and stole a floating device valued at $40.
Garner is also charged with a misdemeanor count of theft by taking.
Man charged with false imprisonment
An Armuchee man has been arrested on a felony count of false imprisonment.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
32-year-old Jesse Trent Fowler grabbed a woman’s arms and wrapped his arms around her in an attempt to prevent her from leaving a residence on Don Drive.
Report: Felon found with shotgun
A Silver Creek man has been charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
52-year-old Jantzen Remone Fletcher was found with a shotgun at his residence on Woodberry Drive.
Man charged with meth possession
An East Rome man is facing drug charges following his arrest on Thursday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
60-year-old Tyrone Carnel McGraw was found with suspected methamphetamine while being arrested in a family violence incident.
McGraw is charged with possession of meth.
