Man charged with aggravated assault, aggravated battery
A Cedartown man was booked into the Floyd County Jail on Wednesday following an alleged assault that occurred in Floyd County.
According to an arrest warrant:
31-year-old Eric Juan Whitehead punched and kicked a woman in the presence of their infant child.
The victim sustained a broken nose and fractured ribs.
Whitehead also put his hands around the victim’s throat and strangled her.
He is charged with aggravated assault and aggravated battery.
Man arrested in connection with multiple injuries sustained by a child
A Rome man is facing a 1st-degree child cruelty charge following his arrest on Wednesday.
According to an arrest warrant:
22-year-old Christian Dmitri Driver participated in actions that caused excessive injuries to a 10-year-old child, including fractures to the ribs, clavicles, and legs.
The victim also sustained bruising to the torso, face, and buttocks.
The injuries occurred between May 4 and May 17, 2024, at a location on Branham Avenue.
Driver is also charged with a misdemeanor count of failure to appear.
Woman accused of knocking another woman’s teeth out
A Rome woman was arrested at her Reservoir Street residence on Wednesday on a felony aggravated battery charge.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
19-year-old Tan’Niya Jakeise Howard punched out a Cedartown woman’s teeth.
Man accused of making a threat
A man from Sugarland, Texas, was jailed on Wednesday and charged with terroristic threats and acts.
According to an arrest warrant:
24-year-old Charles Alia threatened a woman during a verbal altercation.
He was heard on a video recording stating, “I will kill you.”
The victim still had the recording on her cell phone.
Alia was arrested on Wednesday at 315 Shorter Avenue, which is Shorter University.
Man charged with exploitation of the elderly and theft
A South Rome man is accused of stealing another man’s medication.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
The victim is 66-years old.
53-year-old Michael Anthony Foster is charged with a felony count of exploitation or intimidation of the elderly and a misdemeanor count of theft by taking.
