Firefighters were dispatched to Winthrop Memory Care on Highway 411 on Wednesday in reference to a possible fire.
According to Floyd County Emergency Management:
The fire has been contained.
Damage is minor, and no injuries have been reported.
Approximately 50 residents have been evacuated.
EMA is working with the facility for relocation, but a temporary shelter has been established.
We will have more details as they become available.
