Fire damaged a popular Five Points restaurant on Tuesday night.
According to the Rome-Floyd County Fire Department:
At around 8:22 p.m., firefighters responded to Ole Tymer BBQ at 1001 North Broad Street.
The first arriving engine reported a commercial structure with heavy smoke and fire.
Fire crews made an offensive fire attack and were able to control and extinguish the fire.
The damage, which was extensive, was contained to the interior of the building.
No injuries to firefighters or citizens during the firefighting operations.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Two engines, one ladder truck, a squad unit, and two chief officers responded. A total of 18 personnel responded.
