United Way of Floyd, Polk & Chattooga has partnered with Rome Mediation Group to launch Community Mediation, a collaborative initiative designed to help residents, families, businesses, and organizations resolve conflicts constructively and peacefully.
The program will provide accessible, confidential, and voluntary mediation services for a wide range of disputes, including neighborhood concerns, family matters, workplace disagreements, and small business conflicts.
By focusing on communication, understanding, and problem-solving, the program aims to reduce tension, prevent escalation, and strengthen relationships across the community.
“Conflict is a natural part of community life, but unresolved conflict can be costly and divisive,” says William Mitchell, Mediator. “Community Mediation offers people a practical, respectful alternative to litigation—one that empowers participants to shape their own solutions.”
The program will be staffed by trained, neutral mediators and will work closely with community partners, courts, nonprofits, and local organizations to ensure services are accessible to those who need them most.
