North Floyd Industrial Park (Rome-Floyd Development Authority)
Adairsville-based Elevated Steel and the Rome-Floyd County Development Authority have agreed on the purchase of land in the North Floyd Industrial Park that will bring about 100 new jobs to the area.
Elevated Steel is paying $1,307,500 for 37 acres in the industrial park located at Highways 53 and 140.
According to Rome-Floyd County Development Authority President and CEO Spencer Hogg, there was already an agreement with Elevated Steel for 24 acres. However, following some engineering studies, the company realized it needed a larger tract. So that agreement was terminated and the new one for 37 acres was approved on Tuesday.
Hogg said the new layout will give Elevated Steel the space they need with room to grow.
The investment in new equipment represents about $13 million.
Following the closing of the sale, Elevated Steel hopes to get started on the project this year.
