The National Weather Service has issued a Freeze Warning in effect from 11 p.m. on Monday until 10 a.m. on Tuesday.The warning area does include Gordon, Floyd, Bartow, Chattooga, and Polk Counties.
Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 20 degrees are possible.
Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation, and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.
Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.
To prevent water pipes from freezing, wrap or drain them or allow them to drip slowly.
We have a 50 percent chance of showers today, mainly between noon and 3 pm.
It will be mostly cloudy, with a temperature falling to around 40 by 2 pm.
West wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.
Tonight’s low will be around 27 with gusts as high as 25 mph.
