Report: Man held woman in his apartment against her will
An East Rome man was arrested Saturday on charges of aggravated assault, false imprisonment, and 3rd-degree cruelty to children.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
42-year-old Derrick Alan Voyles would not let a woman leave his apartment on High Street while holding a gun and yelling at her to kill him.
The incident occurred in front of two children.
Woman charged with meth possession
A North Rome woman is facing drug charges following her arrest over the weekend.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
34-year-old Myranda Leigh Smith gave her sister’s name and date of birth during two separate encounters with police.
She was also found with methamphetamine, gabapentin, and syringes.
Smith is charged with possession of meth, possession of drug-related objects, giving a false name or address, and failure to appear.
Woman facing criminal trespass, other charges
A Garden Lakes woman initially arrested for criminal trespass is also facing charges of possession of drugs past the guard line at the jail and possession of drugs not in the original container.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
37-year-old Jessica Lynn Randle was at Garden Lakes Baptist Church after being given notice on February 4 not to return.
She was also found with prescription medication in her pants pocket and brought contraband into the jail.
