Confidence continues to increase that we will see severe weather late tonight for North and west Georgia. and continuing into Central and East Georgia Monday morning through early afternoon. Damaging winds and a few tornadoes are possible.Our area is at a level three risk (out of five).
According to the National Weather Service:
A line of thunderstorms will move across the area from the west after midnight through Monday morning.
Any isolated storm that develops ahead of the line could produce a tornado, especially in the southwest portions of the area.
Meanwhile, looking ahead to Monday night, the National Weather Service has issued a Freeze Warning in effect from 11 p.m. on Monday until 10 a.m. on Tuesday.
Be sure to leave a faucet dripping tonight, as temperatures are going to take a tumble.
The National Weather Service has issued a Freeze Warning for much of the state from 11 p.m. tonight until 10 a.m. on Tuesday.
The warning area does include Gordon, Floyd, Bartow, Chattooga, and Polk Counties.
Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 20 degrees are possible.
Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation, and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.
Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.
To prevent water pipes from freezing, wrap or drain or allow them to drip slowly.
