-Staff reports-
Railroad maintenance will continue this week.
Darlington Drive at the crossing near the old cattle barn will remain closed overnight, while Maple Road at the crossing in Lindale is scheduled for railroad maintenance on Tuesday.
The detour is Old Cedartown and Cedar Avenue.
Signs should already be in place to alert drivers.
Construction should be complete within 24 hours.
Prepare now for alternate routes and leave earlier than normal.
And please remind your friends and neighbors.
Meanwhile, the anticipated closing on Riverside Parkway has been pushed back to next month.
“They have decided they are going to push a little bit longer,” said Chris Fincher with Floyd County Emergency Management. “If you happen to be driving or crossing that particular crossing, you will notice that it is built differently. It’s not like your traditional rail crossing. It has panels in between it, so what they need to do is construct those off-site and bring those in. That’s not going to be a full closure when that does happen. They are going to be able to close half of it and open the other half, so that we can have a continuous flow there.”
We will announce the exact date once it’s made available.
