Man charged with aggravated assault, reckless conduct
A West Rome man is accused of discharging a firearm during an argument on Edgewood Avenue on June 9 of last year.
According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:
29-year-old Jose Guadalupe Borjon Caldera pushed a man and pointed a gun at him during the altercation.
Caldera then pointed the gun at the ground near several people, including three juveniles, and shot.
This occurred in front of the house near the road.
Caldera is charged with six counts of aggravated assault and reckless conduct, three counts of 3rd-degree cruelty to children, and single counts of discharging a firearm near a public street and simple battery.
Man charged with meth trafficking
A traffic stop on Highway 411 at Dean Avenue ended with the arrest of a Lindale man on drug trafficking charges.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
43-year-old Joshua Frederick Valdez was a passenger in a vehicle stopped for failure to maintain a lane.
A K9 indication resulted in a search of the vehicle that turned up a marijuana cigarette and a digital scale.
In addition, Valdez was found with approximately 60 grams of methamphetamine.
Valdez is additionally charged with possession of meth, possession of meth with the intent to distribute, possession of drug-related objects, and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
Man charged with terroristic threats and acts
A Rome man was arrested at his Reservoir Street apartment late last week after he allegedly made a threat.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
22-year old Jakerious Javon Glanton damaged a woman’s property and then stated, “I will be back in here for murder next.”
He is charged with terroristic threats and acts and criminal trespass.
Once at the jail, Glanton was found with a small amount of marijuana, resulting in charges of possession of drugs past the guard line and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

A West Rome man is charged with possession of drugs past the guard line at the jail.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
62-year-old Jerry Rowell Manning Jr. was found with 22 grams of suspected marijuana.
He is also charged with possession of drugs by an inmate, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, and a city ordinance violation for drunkeness.
Teen charged with criminal damage to property
A Rome teen is accused of causing damage at the Open Door home on Leon Street, where she had been staying.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
17-year-old Keily El’Yunna Jett punched several holes in the wall and broke a window.
She is charged with felony 2nd-degree criminal damage to property.
Man accused of stealing truck, possessing stolen 4-wheeler
A 52-year-old Rome man was jailed late last week on charges of theft by taking and theft by receiving stolen property.
According to Floyd County Jail records and an arrest warrant:
William Douglas Morris stole a 1993 pickup truck from a location on Bells Ferry Road on September 1, 2025.
He was also found in possession of a stolen 4-wheeler between December 25, 2025, and February 14, 2026.
