Several days of heavy hospital usage have pushed Blood Assurance’s supply of O-positive and O-negative blood to critical levels, and platelet levels are also nearing critical. There is an emergency need for donors as soon as possible.
As we enter severe weather season — when trauma cases can increase — rebuilding the blood supply quickly becomes even more important.
Eligible donors, especially those with Type O blood, are asked to donate as soon as possible.
Blood Assurance is the primary supplier of blood and blood products to Atrium Health Floyd and AdventHealth Redmond in Rome, and they also supply Cartersville Medical Center.
Donations at Blood Assurance drives and donor centers in both Rome and Cartersville help support local patients.
