Man charged with aggravated assault, burglary, and false imprisonment
A Rome man is facing aggravated assault charges following an incident on Calhoun Road on March 6.
According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:
42-year-old Robert Alan Ray Croy entered a residence by breaking out the glass of a sliding door.
He then stood over a woman, held a knife to her head, and threatened to kill her if she screamed.
Croy also pepper-sprayed the victim in the face.
On Monday, Croy fled on foot from police and resisted as they tried to take him into custody.
He is also charged with 1st-degree burglary, false imprisonment, simple battery, obstruction of law enforcement, and a couple of probation violations.
Man charged with conspiracy to violate controlled substances act
An Armuchee area man is accused of attempting to sell drugs.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
67-year-old Everett Norris Glass used a telecommunications device to tell another person that he was in possession of methamphetamine and marijuana.
He then offered to distribute the drugs to that other person.
The incident occurred on January 31.
Glass is charged with conspiracy to violate Georgia’s Controlled Substances Act and use of a communications facility to commit a felony involving controlled substances.
Stolen vehicle lands Sylvania man behind bars
A man from Sylvania, Georgia, was booked into the Floyd County jail on Tuesday after he was found with a stolen vehicle on Highway 411.
According to jail records:
23-year-old Cody James Jackson knew that the Dodge Ram truck, valued at $40,000, had been stolen.
He is charged with a felony count of theft by receiving stolen property.
