Woman accused of snatching $250 in lottery tickets
An arrest has been made in a reported robbery at the Calhoun Quick Stop on Calhoun Avenue back on September 10, 2025.
According to an arrest warrant:
51-year-old April Yvonne Smith of Rome snatched $250 in lottery tickets from the clerk at the store.
Smith is charged with strong-arm robbery and a probation violation.
Two charged with theft by receiving a stolen vehicle
Two Rome residents were jailed over the weekend after they were found in a stolen vehicle on Second Avenue and Avenue E.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
54-year-old Joseph David Fowler and 37-year-old Jessica Aileen Warren are both charged with theft by receiving.
The vehicle is valued at $5,000.
Fowler was also found to be driving with a suspended license and the vehicle was not registered.
He is also charged with open container after an open Bud Light was located on the 4-wheeler.
Man accused of fleeing from police in stoen vehicle with two stolen firearms
A Rome man is facing felony charges of fleeing or attempting to elude, theft by receiving stolen property, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon following his arrest over the weekend.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
33-year-old Devin Ray Neal Dockery failed to stop his vehicle for police and fled in a reckless manner at 40 miles per hour above the speed limit in the area of Jones Mill Road.
He then fled on foot in an attempt to avoid arrest.
The vehicle was stolen, as were two firearms inside.
Dockery is additionally charged with misdemeanor obstruction, reckless driving, passing in a no-passing zone, and driving too fast for conditions.
Woman charged with possession of meth with the intent to distribute
A traffic stop on a pickup truck with suspended registration on Highway 27 South ended with the arrest of a Rome woman on drug charges.
According to Floyd County jail records;
During a probable cause search, two plastic bags of suspected methamphetamine were located inside a purse in the front seat.
The bags were packaged for resale and weighed 3 grams and 5 grams, respectively.
37-year-old Lindsay Anne Ryman is charged with possession of meth with the intent to distribute.
Woman charged with possession of fentanyl
A Rome woman was arrested on Maple Avenue on Friday and charged with possession of a controlled substance.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
41-year-old Donisha Nicole Watkins Collier had a substance believed to be fentanyl.
She is also charged with failure to appear and a probation violation.
