Qualifying for the May 19 Primary ends at noon on Friday, and more candidates have signed up to run for office locally.
For Floyd County Commission, Post 5, Shonna Bailey has qualified as a Democrat.
Ronnie Kilgo and Cleve Jackson have qualified as Republicans.
For Floyd County Commission, Post 4, Fred Adams Collins qualified as a Democrat.
Incumbent Republican David Thornton has also qualified.
For Post 1, incumbent Rhonda Wallace and Shane Cowan, both Republicans, have qualified.
For the Floyd County School Board in District 1, Sonja Johnson Law, a Democrat, has qualified along with incumbent Republican Steve Turrentine.
In District 4, Carmen Dempsey Jones, a Republican, remains the only qualified candidate.
