Turner Bend Road will close on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at noon due to railroad removal and maintenance. Barricades will be in place at the rail crossing, which will be closed for 48 hours.
There is still uncertainty about the timing for the closure of Alabama Highway; it may close on Thursday. Signs are in place at the highway crossing to notify drivers of the pending date. The route identified by the safety coordinator is Wood Road to Garden Lakes Parkway and Redmond Circle.
Other major crossings identified on this project include Redmond Circle at Gala Shopping Center, Riverside Parkway, and North Broad Street. Timing for these intersections will be advertised closer to the effective date.
