As early voting for Special Elections for Congress and the Georgia State Senate continues……Qualifying begins Monday for local and statewide races on the ballot this coming spring and fall.
For Floyd County Commission, Posts One, currently held by Rhonda Wallace; Post Four, held by David Thornton; and Post Five, currently held by Scotty Hancock, will be on the ballot.
Hancock has announced that he will not be seeking re-election.
For Floyd County Board of Education, District One, held by Steve Turrentine, and District Four, held by Tony Daniel, are up for election.
Daniel has announced that he is not running again.
The qualifying fee for county commission is $216, and the fee to run for school board is $360.
Qualifying for Juvenile Court Judge, State Senate, and State House is also going on this week.
