-Floyd County Emergency Management-
Norfolk Southern will be performing needed maintenance at several railroad crossings in Rome and Floyd County this week, including a few on some commonly traveled roads.
The work is expected to begin on Monday at 7 a.m.
According to Chris Fincher with Floyd County Emergency Management, while state routes could potentially be open within 24 hours, others may remain closed for up to 48 hours.
So, please make plans now and identify new routes.
On Monday, crews will be working on the crossings on Turner Bend Road and Alabama Highway.
On Tuesday, they will be at the crossing on Redmond Circle at the Gala Shopping Center.
On Wednesday, they will be working at the crossings on Old Airport Road, Sycamore Street, North Elm Street, and Sheridan Drive.
On Thursday, maintenance will be taking place on Second Avenue off John Davenport, Riverside Parkway at the park, and on North Broad Street between the bread store and the church.
Then on Monday, March 9, they will be on Darlington Drive.
