Edwards
Murder charges have been filed against a second suspect in the December death of a pregnant woman at John Graham Homes in East Rome late last year.
25-year-old Rolanda Monique Edwards of Rockmart was initially arrested in December for allegedly assisting 23-year-old Mystique Malachi Amaziah Taylor in removing the body of Kaylee B. Shackelford from the apartment, which was the crime scene, in an attempt to conceal the death.
Shackelford had been stabbed in the head, neck, and face, and struck with a baseball bat.
Taylor then fled from police in a stolen vehicle on Highway 411 at speeds of more than 100 miles per hour.
He was arrested and charged with felony murder, concealing the death of another, fleeing or attempting to elude, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, theft by receiving stolen property, theft by taking, criminal damage to property, battery, failure to obey a traffic control device, speeding, and reckless driving.
Edwards, who was in the vehicle with Taylor, was initially charged with concealing the death of another, hindering the apprehension or punishment of a criminal, and being a party to a crime.
Edwards is now also charged with felony murder, feticide, aggravated assault, aggravated battery, theft by taking, theft by receiving stolen property and conspiracy to commit a felony.
