February is African American History Month, and on Tuesday, the Floyd County Commission will recognize members of the community who have made an impact.
Each February, the community is asked to nominate Floyd County citizens who continue to serve the greater good.
This year’s honorees are Dr. Tiffany Pauling, Candice Spivey, and Joyce Smith.
Tuesday’s Floyd County Commission meeting begins at 6 p.m. at the county administration building on Fourth Avenue.
The commission will also hear a rezoning request for 4620 Alabama Highway.
The applicant is seeking to rezone the property to match the established use and to construct an approximate 200 square foot addition to the building.
A rezoning request for 21 Old Billy Pyle Road is also on the agenda.
That applicant wants a rezoning from Community Commercial to Suburban Residential to match the existing use.
